a poem

Mendicant

The sun is settling,
over the breeze.
The mountains are nestling
on the way to her esteem.

The time it has taken to
get to another mountaintop for thought,
is the way it takes to get to the top.

The way it going
is up and out of here,
the way it is coming,
is here to there to Time Square.

On my back I've redden
a donkey into laughing rhythms,
the way it was said to me,
that his whole life he is giving.

To King of kings, The One and Mighty,
the Wild Peace that Feels the Ocean,
The Waver Tamer, The Heart of Motion,
sings the waygiver with a heart of devotion.
